I am retired and some health problems including chronic pain so I watch a lot more TV than most do. I would rather be able to do other things that I used to be able to do, but TV really heps me pass all the time I have because I can't. I used to be able to watch everything on TV that I liked, but now there are just too many things I like to watch them all!
I don't watch "The News", reality, game and do it yourself shows with few exceptions because I don't like them. I used to record all the late and 'late late' talk shows. Now I only watch The Daily Show, The Nightly Show and @Midnight. Those along with Fox Sunday night lineup, Real Time, Vice, 60 Minutes Sports, Jim Rome on Showtime, some comedy shows and sporting events (Boxing & NFL games) are about all I watch the same day. I still record and then watch them as I fast forward through the commercials. I do watch the Super Bowl live if I have guests, but if alone I record and watch, fast forwarding through commercials after I have seen them once. As I said I record and watch almost everything, even movies and shows where there are no commercials.
Most recently I watched the last season of Gotham. I watched it straight through with only one break for sleep. I watch Game of Thrones same day and watch the previous week's episode again just before watching the current one. Just before watching episode one of this season I watched all the previous seasons again. I loved the books and love the show. I don't mind that the show doesn't strictly follow the books. I don't really understand why that bothers some people.
