Inspired by the Manga novels, Warrior Nun revolves around an orphaned teen who wakes up in a morgue with a new lease on life and a divine artifact embedded in her back. She discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her.
Netflix announced today that Warrior Nun has been renewed for a second season. The good news comes less than two months after the fantasy drama's release, which has garnered somewhat mixed reviews.
Based on the manga-style comics by Ben Dunn, the series follows orphaned teenager Ava, who wakes up in a morgue with unexplainable powers. As she searches for answers, Ava realizes she is part of a secret society of warrior nuns, known as The Order of the Cruciform Sword, who are sworn to protect the world from evil. Now caught in the middle of an ancient war between good and evil, Ava has a new set of responsibilities as the chosen one.
Look for Season 2 of Warrior Nun in 2021.
