The story of a wagon train and the hazards it faces on the journey from post-Civil War Missouri to California through plains, deserts and the Rocky Mountains. The Wagon Train is led by, gruff but good-at-heart Major Seth Adams (Ward Bond) backed up by his competent frontier scout Flint McCullough (Robert Horton).
