Upload takes place in the near future, where people who are near death can be "uploaded" into a virtual afterlife of their choice. In 2033, secretly romantic Brooklyn-born Nora works customer service for a luxurious virtual reality environment. When handsome L.A. party boy Nathan's self-driving car crashes, his high-maintenance girlfriend uploads him permanently into Nora's VR world.
Amazon announced today that Upload has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes a week after the sci-fi comedy released its freshman run, which has been positively received by both viewers and critics.
Set in 2033, the series follows Los Angeles coder Nathan Brown, who was involved in a terrible car accident at the wheel of his self-driving car. After his crash, Nathan's girlfriend uploads him to a virtual reality world created by a customer service rep named Nora, who works for an elite digital afterlife company. Nathan now must navigate his new and surreal surroundings with the help of Nora.
Look for Season 2 of Upload in 2021.
