Looking for love can be tricky, but some find it harder than others. Add disability to the equation and it can sometimes seem almost impossible. This uplifting series follows the journeys of several extraordinary singletons as they enter the dating circuit in pursuit of love.
27 year old Ruth is a Jazz singer from North London. Charismatic, and talented she's looking for someone to form a meaningful relationship with, but she says her Tourette Syndrome can make dating tricky. As well as vocal tics that mean that anything could come out of her mouth, "petrolbomb, fattie, Thundercats..." Ruth's motor tics have made her involuntarily kick and hit people on dates in the past.
Ruth is bisexual and has had one relationship with a man but never with a woman. She's been single for two and a half years and worries that her Tourette's will make it hard for someone else to take her on but wants someone, male or female, who is ready to accept her for who she is "warts and all..." Will 29 year old bar manager Dan or 24 year old film industry worker Jen be the man, or woman, for Ruth?
