Character Bio

29 year old nursery nurse Hayley has a job she loves, a tight knit family and close friends but there's one thing that's always eluded her - a boyfriend. She's never had a serious relationship and had one date in the past 9 years. Hayley has Apert Syndrome, a rare genetic condition which is characterized by malformations of the face, hands and feet.
Hayley's condition has made dating difficult for her - as a teenager, boys would ask her out as a bet and she used to wear sunglasses and a cap to disguise how she looked as well as headphones so she couldn't hear the comments. She longs to meet someone who can look beyond her condition and love her for the person she is "never judge a book by its cover – this is my cover... the book's inside. I just need to find someone that will look beyond what they see in front of them". Hayley believes that there is someone out there for everyone and is determined to find her Mr Right. Could 34 year old council-worker Chris be the man of her dreams?
