Set in New York City, the series starred Will Friedle as Alex Barnes, an aspiring music critic and recent college graduate working as a researcher for a magazine. He shared an apartment with his college friends Wiseman (Joshua Ackerman), a dental technician and Todd, the so-called slacker who gets the good things in life despite not actually working for them.
