The Fosters warily welcome Callie, a hardened teen with an abusive past, into their home thinking it's just for a few weeks, until a more permanent placement can be found.

The Fosters Renewed For Season 5
Freeform announced today that The Fosters has been renewed for a fifth season. The good news comes midway though Season 4 of the veteran drama and promises to take it past the 100-episode milestone.
The Fosters premiered in 2013, back when Freeform was known as ABC Family. It didn't take long for the show to become a hit with viewers, who were drawn into its storyline of an interracial lesbian couple raising a mix of foster and biological children. Even with its viewership easing off a little this season, The Fosters still ranks as cable's strongest-performing scripted series in its time slot among total viewers and in key demographics.
Look for the second half of Season 4 to resume on January 31, with Season 5 likely premiering around the summer.
