Maya Travis, an L.A. district attorney who suffers a devastating defeat when prosecuting an A-list actor for double murder. With her high-profile career derailed, she flees for a quieter life in Washington. Eight years later when this same celebrity is under suspicion for another murder, Maya Travis is lured back to the DA’s office for another chance at justice.
It is being reported that The Fix has been cancelled by ABC. The news comes with two episodes remaining in the legal drama's run.
The mid-season entry premiered in March but failed to generate much buzz. Its first episode was pretty much dead on arrival, ranking last in the ratings against its 10:00pm broadcast competition on NBC (The Enemy Within) and CBS (Bull).
Co-created by ex-O.J. Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark, The Fix followed successful district attorney Maya Travis, whose career in L.A. suffered a major setback after prosecuting a big-name actor for double murder. Seeking a quieter life, she moved to the pacific northwest - but now another murder has occurred with signs that it was done by the same killer, which draws Maya back to the big city and the DA's office for a chance to finally get her man.
The series finale is scheduled to air on Monday, May 20.
