Character Bio

Andy Moffet was played by 'Mackenzie Astin' from 1985 to 1988.
Andy Moffet came on in January 1985 to look for work in Edna's Edibles and he landed a job as a errand boy for Mrs. Garrett. Andy was full of ingenious ways to make money for the business and to get girls. He had crushes on most of the girls in the cast, but was accepted as a little brother to them. It was also revealed that Andy was a foster child later on in the show. He remained an errand boy when the store burned down and became Over Our Heads in the next season.
In 1986, Andy looked to Beverly Ann as a mother figure, and the next year, she became his adoptive mother when his foster parents divorced. He gained an adopted sister when Pippa McKenna came on in the final season. They both end up sharing a room when Over our Heads closed down and the space was made into a bedroom. Andy hung out at the community center and met up with Big Brother type Rick Bonner, who later became Jo's husband. At the end of the series, he and Pippa attend the newly-owned Eastland School.
