ABC Halts Production On 'Astronaut Wives Club'
Astronaut Wives Club, originally slated for this summer, is now looking at a 2014-2015 midseason debut. Right now, the network has halted production to expand on the 10-episode limited series’ concept written by Stephanie Savage. Based on Lily Koppel’s novel of the same name, it revolves around the Mercury Seven’s wives, who were in the spotlight while their husbands were busy making a name for themselves during the 1960s space race. Originally, the show looked to showcase these seven women, but now it will also chronicle the lives of the Gemini and Apollo mission crews’ spouses. This new story revision means reconceiving the arc of the season and also means an expansion to the current cast.
