Set 97 years after a nuclear war has destroyed civilization, a spaceship housing humanity's lone survivors sends 100 juvenile delinquents back to Earth in hopes of possibly re-populating the planet.
Finn Collins is one of the Delinquents sent to Earth to see if it is inhabitable. Finn is a playful, cunning, amusing, and a reckless, 'bad boy' teenager who is always on the verge for a blast of adrenaline and always looking for danger, fun and adventure.
He is a handsome, young man. Finn has light-dark brown hair, that reaches just above his chin; his hair is left loose and tousled; adding a rustic and messy look to him. His eyes are the color of dark brown, blending into the color of his face; usually lit up by amusement, anger or competition.
Finn is quite protective over Clarke and the decisions she makes, always sticking by her side and assisting her out whenever she needs assistance. He is also Clarke's love interest and the feelings have been shown to be mutual. Finn is later revealed to be Raven's boyfriend.
Finn and Clarke are good friends and have romantic feelings for each other. In the Pilot, Finn flirts with Clarke throughout the trip to Mount Weather. In Earth Skills, the two search for evidence of Jasper's whereabouts. After finding him, they return him to camp. In Earth Kills, Finn, Clarke and Wells look for medicine to assist Jasper out, but are forced to flee when the poisonous fog rolls in. They take cover in a buried vehicle and bond about having fun. Later on, Finn tells Clarke that Wells loves her and that she should forgive him.
In Murphy's Law, Finn and Clarke are tasked with protecting Wells' murderer, Charlotte and take cover in a buried house. After watching Charlotte commit suicide, Finn and Clarke return to the buried house and have sex. In Twilight's Last Gleaming, the two sit under the stars and look up, seeing Raven's pod, believed to be a shooting star. When Finn finds Raven at the pod's wreck, he shows affection towards his girlfriend of the Ark and that upsets Clarke. Finn apologizes to Clarke for this.
Finn and Wells had a stable relationship. In the Pilot, Murphy and Mbege attempt to fight Wells, but Finn interjects. He knocks them both down, saving Wells. In Earth Skills, Finn, Clarke and Wells work together to find Jasper, as he has disappeared. In Earth Kills, Finn, Clarke and Wells look for medicine for Jasper after finding him and get caught by the poisonous fog. The three flee into a buried vehicle and as Finn finds whiskey, Wells says alcohol is toxic. Finn brushes it off with a sarcastic comment. Later that day, Finn tells Clarke to forgive Wells and says that Wells' is a good person. She forgives Wells. In Murphy's Law, Finn seemed slightly upset by Wells' death.
Finn dislikes Murphy as seen in the Pilot and knocks him down when him and Mbege attack Wells. After that, they do not interact much until Murphy's Law. While being beaten, Finn watches in shock, but is relatively unaffected. After watching Charlotte jump off a cliff, Finn witnesses Murphy's banishment from camp. Finn looks down at him with pity and drops a knife for Murphy to survive with.
Finn and Bellamy have a neutral relationship and mutual respect for one another. However, in Twilight's Last Gleaming, Finn confronts Bellamy after he tossed Raven's radio in a river. His words result in Bellamy forming a search party for the radio.
Raven and Finn were dating before the 100 were sent down to Earth. Raven risks her life to come down to Earth to finally be back with Finn again by updating a 100-year-old space pod and going down to Earth with it. She finds out that Clarke and Finn had sex and is upset, but does not hate either of them for it because Finn assumed he would never see her again. Finn says he still loves Raven, but he may harbor some feelings for Clarke too.
