Terry and June starred Terry Scott and June Whitfield as the Medfords, newly-moved to suburban Purley. Where other sitcoms thrived on conflict, Terry and June were happily-married, middle-aged and middle-class. The comedy was down to the genius of the two named characters and their striving for betterment.
