Set in the 1980s in Montauk, NY, a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into an extraordinary mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl.
Netflix announced today that Stranger Things has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news, which is really no surprise given the series' continued popularity, comes just under three months after the drama's Season 3 release.
Created by the Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things takes place in Hawkins, Indiana and follows a group of kids who become friends with a mysterious girl that possesses psychokinetic abilities. They discover an alternate dimension known as the Upside Down, which starts to have an increasing affect on the town and its residents.
There is not much known regarding Season 4 in terms of returning cast members or story line, but a teaser released today reveals that the setting will, at least in part, take place outside of Hawkins. While no premiere date is known, a mid-to-late 2020 return appears likely.
