'Star Trek: Prodigy' Renewed By Paramount+

Paramount+ announced today that Star Trek: Prodigy has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes just two episodes into the CG-animated series' freshman run, which has been garnering generally high praise so far.
The show follows a group of six young alien outcasts who must figure out how to work together while navigating towards the Alpha Quadrant in search of a better future. This motley crew know nothing about the ship they have commandeered, but their adventures will introduce them to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.
The first half of Star Trek: Prodigy continues through November 18 before taking a midseason break until January 6. Season 2 will likely be released in late 2022.
