The workplace comedy "Spun Out" stars Dave Foley as Dave Lyons, the patriarchal boss of a fledgling public relations firm staffed with people who can spin everyone’s problems but their own. No matter how bizarre the cases are that the agency takes on, they pale in comparison to the workplace romances, rivalries, personal successes, and often hilarious failures of the close-knit and dysfunctional colleagues at DLPR.
Dave Foley dropped out of an alternative high school to do stand-up comedy. He met 'Kevin McDonald (I)' ...
Dave Lyons is the face of the company, but that doesn’t mean much unless everybody sees that face. While brilliant at his job, he’s more interested in being the preening peacock who goes to lavish galas than supervising the daily goings-on of the company. After all, you’re not going to get to rub shoulders with the social elite stuck behind your desk in an office full of weirdos. You will get your shoulders rubbed by a social geek, but more about Dave’s assistant later.
Dave loves the ladies, loves to drink, but he’s never over the top. He’s very dry, very blunt and very rich - or at least he would be if he didn’t have several ex-wives to support. For all his quirky hobbies and interests, he is great at his job, and recognizes a good spin-doctor when he sees one - including his daughter Stephanie. He admits that he hired her to work on their strained relationship, but he also believes that deep, deep down, she has what it takes to make it in this business. He inspires his band of PR soldiers with ease and commands their respect and affection in whatever he does.
