Drama set against the infancy of the crack cocaine epidemic and it's ultimate radical impact on the culture as we know it. The story follows 3 characters on a violent collision course: Franklin Saint, young street entrepreneur on a quest for power; Gustavo Zapata, a Mexican wrestler caught up in a power struggle within a crime family; Teddy McDonald, a CIA operative who begins an off-book operation to fund the Nicaraguan Contras and Lucia Villanueva, the daughter of a Mexican crime lord.
FX announced today that Snowfall has been renewed for a third season. The good news comes just ahead of the drama's sophomore finale, which airs tomorrow night and caps another successful 10-episode run.
Season 2 of the cable series continued to garner healthy ratings for the cable network. Through nine episodes, viewership numbers have been fairly close to what they were in Season 1. On top of that, critical response has been mostly positive, improving on the mixed feedback it received for its debut outing.
Co-created by famed director and screenwriter John Singleton, Snowfall takes place in 1980s Los Angeles, with the crack cocaine epidemic in its infancy. The drama follows various characters from different walks of life who are on a violent collision course that will ultimately have a radical and lasting impact on our culture.
