American logger Sean Vann attempts to build a new logging operation in the frozen forests of Siberia. Vann has been logging in Russia for 17 years and landed a contract to log the world’s largest forest in Siberia. Vann looks to American loggers who are experiencing a recession and convinces a group of men from Montana and Oregon to leave the forests of America and seek their fortunes in the sub-zero ground of Siberia. where they must work side by side with a Russian crew.
Ruslan Saydulin is twenty-six years old and comes from the city of Yekaterinburg: the 4th largest city in Russia. Ruslan is a highly motivated and resourceful young logger with more experience than his years would suggest. He started in the industry 6 years ago and has run his own business for the past two. But Ruslan has struggled with criminal elements that threatened his livelihood. He even watched it happen to his father. According to Ruslan, some of his generation are "like wolves - everyone wants a bite."
Ruslan sees the huge opportunity in Siberia, especially to learn from Sean Vann. But he will be leaving his small logging business in the hands of his father and he is unsure how he will keep the business on track. Ruslan is intrigued that he will be working with Americans but thinks they should probably "just go back to Hollywood."
