Show Update
'Prodigal Son' Cancelled By Fox
It is being reported that Fox has cancelled Prodigal Son after two seasons. The sad news comes two weeks ahead of the crime drama's May 18 sophomore finale, which will now serve as its series ender.
The show stars Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a criminal psychologist with a special gift of knowing how the minds of killers work. This is because in the 1990s, his father, played by Michael Sheen, was a notorious serial killer known as "The Surgeon". Malcolm uses his ability to help the NYPD solve crimes and stop killers, all while dealing with his manipulative mother , played by Bellamy Young, and homicidal father, who is still looking to bond with his prodigal son.
The cancellation of Prodigal Son does not come as a complete surprise, as the show struggled to draw a sizeable audience even back in Season 1.
