"Portlandia" Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein and guest stars satirizing such alternative-culture types as the owners of a feminist book store, a bike messenger, a punk-rock couple, and an arty duo obsessed with putting little cut-outs of birds on anything they lay their hands on. Each half-hour episode will consist of interwoven short films, with some characters recurring from week-to-week.

Portlandia To End After Season 8
IFC announced today at its Television Critics Association press tour panel that Portlandia has been renewed for an eighth and final season. On the air since 2011, the Portland-based comedy has enjoyed a lengthy run on the cable network that will see it tally over 70 episodes by the time the series concludes.
Created by and starring Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, Portlandia features the duo in various comedic sketches along with various rotating celebrity guest stars. The show is currently just two episodes into its seventh season, with new installments airing Thursday nights. Look for Season 8 to premiere later this year or early in 2018.
Portlandia Renewed Through Season 7
IFC announced today that Portlandia has been renewed for seasons six and seven. 10 new half-hour episodes have been ordered for each new season of the long-running sketch comedy series, which is currently in its fifth season. The network also confirmed that creators and stars Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein will remain at the helm of the show, along with co-creator and director Jonathan Krisel.
