This new music competition series gives viewers a front row seat to experience the journey and aspirations of these gifted songwriters and an inside look at this unique creative process for the first time. Two of the most accomplished songwriters share their experience and expertise as Jewel hosts, as well as gives her feedback as a judge, alongside Kara DioGuardi who is the head judge each week.
While you may know her from her role as a judge on American Idol Seasons 8 and 9, Kara is one of the industry’s most sought after songwriters and producers. Her songs have appeared on more than 159 million albums. Kara is a Grammy nominated hitmaker, 2011 NAMM Music For Life Award winner, 2009 NMPA Songwriter Icon Award winner, 2007 BMI Pop Songwriter of the Year, and has received 17 BMI Awards for co-writing the most performed songs on the radio. Kara also works at Warner Bros Records where she serves as Executive VP of Talent Development, Office of the Chairman, and has signed hit artists such as Jason Derulo and Iyaz. More than 307 of her songs have been released on major labels and nearly 150 of those have appeared on platinum-selling albums. Throughout her career, she has had over 45 worldwide charting singles and her songs have helped propel more than 66 albums into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Kara’s songs are continuously featured in major motion pictures, television shows, film soundtracks, and radio spots, as well as national and international commercial campaigns.
