"Party Down" follows a Los Angeles catering team - a sextet of Hollywood wannabes stuck working for tips while hoping for their "big break." Each episode of this half-hour comedy finds the hapless catering team working a new event - and inevitably getting tangled up with the colorful guests and their absurd lives.
Starz Commissions 'Party Down' Revival
Starz announced today that a limited revival of Party Down is in the works, with its original cast and production team all on-board to return. The news comes over a decade after the comedy was cancelled after just two seasons.
The original version of the show premiered in 2009 and aired a total of 20 episodes. It followed a group of aspiring Hollywood actors and writers work catering gigs part-time while waiting for their big break. In each episode the team works a new event, and learns about the guests' lives.
If the main cast of the show were to all indeed return for the revival, there would be some pretty recognizable names involved. The likes of Jane Lynch, Megan Mullally, Lizzy Caplan, Adam Scott, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen, and Ken Marino could all be sharing screen time if the series comes to fruition.
