This BBC television drama series follows the work of the Unsolved Crime and Open Case Squad (UCOS). Led by Superintendent Sandra Pullman, it is made up of retired police officers who have been recruited to reinvestigate unsolved crimes. It is the new policing protocols which come into conflict with the 'good old ways' that creates some of the humour of this likeable drama series.
As Ted settles himself into the UCOS office, Danny and Steve try to work him out from afar. They’ve heard he’s got quite the rep; well-respected in his field, gifted at interrogation and prepared to go to any length for the job - even taking a bullet over the years. But his idiosyncrasies are something else - from slapping himself in the face to keeping a jar containing his father’s spirit on his desk, this other side of Ted is cloaked in mystery. (Luckily he has coffee and doughnuts on hand to sweeten up his new colleagues.)
Ted will jump feet - and sometimes face - first into each of his cases and become part of the UCOS furniture in no time.
