Former police detective Adrian Monk (Tony Shalhoub), whose photographic memory and amazing ability to piece together tiny clues made him a local legend, has suffered from intensified obsessive-compulsive disorder since the unsolved murder of his wife, Trudy. Now on psychiatric leave, he works as a consultant with the eventual goal of reinstatement.

Character Bio

Dr. Charles Kroger was Monk's long-time therapist, a brilliant doctor who lent a sympathetic ear to Monk's many fears and phobias. The virtually unflappable Dr. Kroger had a unique ability to understand Monk, guiding Monk through rough patches and helping him control his disorder. Though protective of his own privacy, Dr. Kroger played a vital role in helping Monk function in his personal life and as a detective. Despite his untimely passing, Dr. Kroger will never be forgotten by Monk or the many others whose lives he touched.
