Premise:
Based on the life and letters of Jane Austen, the BBC One feature-length drama Miss Austen Regrets tells the story of the novelist's final years, examining why, despite setting the standard for romantic fiction, she died having never married or met her own Mr Darcy.

This is well worth watching... Olivia Williams as Jane Austen is superb. True to the style of her writing, this portrayal is not overly sentimental and provides insight into what it was like for a talented woman for whom earning a living was deemed "unseemly."
I should warn, however, the viewing quality of the mininova torrent mentioned above is rather fuzzy...

Again, an excellent production, fantastic cast...
excellent show, olivia williams was a great jane austin. I was worried they may have made it all a bit superficial but it was very well done. Wonder if austin ever suspected that people might be interested in her own life.
