MASTERS OF SEX stars Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, who will portray the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine.

Courtney B. Vance & Rene Auberjonois Join Showtime's 'Masters Of Sex'
Courtney B. Vance and Rene Auberjonois have joined the cast of Showtime’s drama series Masters of Sex for its upcoming second season. Vance will recur in multiple episodes as Dr. Hendricks, the head of an African-American hospital in St. Louis whose goal is to racially integrate his hospital. Meanwhile. Auberjonois will appear in a guest starring role as Dr. Papanikolaou, a former professor of Dr. DePaul (guest star Julianne Nicholson), who she and Johnson hope will endorse their screening program that uses the test named after him: the Pap smear.
