A continuation of the character of Lou Grant, created by Edward Asner on "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." Lou Grant moves to Los Angeles where he becomes the city editor of the fictitious Los Angeles Tribune. The program attempts to provide a look at the workings of a large city newspaper and provides a forum for airing and debating topical issues.
