Lost in Austen is a reinvention of the classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, in which Jane Austen’s story is thrown off track by a very modern heroine, Amanda Price. In this 4-part miniseries, Amanda inadvertently swaps places with Elizabeth Bennet and places the outcome of the greatest love story of all time in jeopardy.
Kingston was born and raised in Epsom, Surrey. She is the eldest of three daughters of a butcher, Anthony ...
True to the values of that period, Alex's Mrs Bennet wants her five daughters married off to wealthy men so they will be taken care of when her husband passes on. She sees Amanda's arrival as a threat, a plot turn which gave Alex something to sink her teeth into. Having found the novel "utterly romantic", the former ER actress couldn't be more thrilled to have been part of the classy production.
