Kwon Jin-Soo (Korean name: Hangul: 권진수, Hanja: 權真秀) is married to Sun-Hwa Kwon and is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Before the crash, his marriage with Sun was deteriorating because of the work her father was making him do and their issues having children. On the Island, Jin proved to be very efficient in catching fish, providing food for the others but since he and Sun were the only survivors who didn't speak English, this caused a constant language barrier between them and the other castways. However, when it was revealed that Sun spoke English, he felt betrayed by his wife and directed his efforts toward helping Michael bulid the raft. Before leaving on the raft he reconciled with Sun, saying he was doing this to get them off the Island. After being attacked by the Others out at sea, Jin, Michael, and Sawyer washed up back on the Island where they met the Tail Section Survivors of the plane and made their way back to camp where he and Sun were reunited. Despite Jin's infertility, he and Sun were somehow able to concieve a child on the island and their marriage was made stronger. Eventually learning key words and phrases Jin became more a part of the group, participating in missions and aiding in setting off the trap set for the Others. After Jack called the "Kahana" for rescue, Sun managed to escape the Island on the helicopter with the rest of the Oceanic Six but Jin was left aboard the Freighter when a C-4 explosion destroyed it, leaving Sun to believe he was dead. After the Island was moved by Benjamin Linus and was flashing through time, Jin was later found unconscious on a piece of flotsam by Danielle Rousseau and her science expedition in 1988. He eventually met up with Sawyer and the rest of the survivors who were stuck in the 70's where he worked for the DHARMA Initiative as a Security Officer for 3 years, and learned to speak fluent English. With the hopes of being reunited with Sun, he aided Jack in his plan to change the past with the hydrogen bomb and after the detonation of Jughead, his fate is currently unknown.
