When Dorcas sees Daniel giving money to Emily she begins to wonder if he is in fact the father of the baby. After a telegram arrives for Emily though she admits to Dorcas that Master Raymond is Emily finally ends up admitting the truth to her mother. Laura learns that her former love is intending on returning to the area.
