Marvel's Iron Fist
Daniel Rand is the son of Wendell Rand, who had, as a youth, visited the mystic city of K'un-Lun, which materialized in the Himalayas once a decade; founded roughly a million years ago by extraterrestrials, K'un-Lun was co-ruled by the aliens' descendants and powerful beings called the Dragon Kings, who were themselves subject to the godlike sorcerer Master Khan. Rand had saved the life of K'un-Lun's ruler Lord Tuan, who adopted Rand as his heir, to the resentment of Tuan's son, Yu-Ti.

Iron Fist Renewed for Season 2
Netflix has renewed the Marvel series for Season 2. Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb made the announcement at San Diego Comic-Con. In addition, Loeb hinted that Colleen Wing (Jessica Henwick) would team up with NYPD detective Misty Knight (Simone Missick), who first appeared in Season 1 of “Luke Cage.” The characters previously partnered together in the Marvel comic books.

Marvel's Iron Fist adds Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey to cast
Marvel’s Iron Fist has added a few branches to the Meachum family tree. 90120 actress Jessica Stroup has been cast as Joy Meachum in the Netflix series, and Tom Pelphrey of Banshee and Guiding Light has been cast as her brother, Ward Meachum.
Iron Fist Casts Colleen Wing
Jessica Henwick, who has recently had small roles in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Game of Thrones, will come to Iron Fist as comicbook character Colleen Wing. The role is described as the female lead on the show, "an invaluable ally to Iron Fist." She joins previously cast Finn Jones, who will play the title role of Danny Rand aka Iron Fist.

Jessica Jones Writer Joins Netflix's Iron Fist
It seems Scott Reynolds is joining the Iron Fist writers room. The former Dexter and Jessica Jones writer updated his Twitter profile to indicate his new gig. Reynolds has writing credits on four episodes of Jessica Jones, including the Season 1 finale, “AKA Smile.” Reynolds also wrote for the Fox series The Following.

The showunner who led the final seasons of Showtime’s Dexter is taking on Iron Fist. Writer-producer Scott Buck has been tapped by Marvel to lead its fourth Netflix series. Buck wrote for HBO’s Six Feet Under and Rome and then led the final four seasons of Showtime’s Dexter (including co-writing its rather infamous series finale).
