NBC Cancels Hannibal

NBC announced today that Hannibal is being canceled after three seasons. The move doesn't come as a complete surprise after Season 3 premiered at series-low ratings earlier this month, only to fall further in the two episodes following.
The network issued a press release with the following statement: “We have been tremendously proud of ‘Hannibal’ over its three seasons. Bryan and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made ‘Hannibal’ an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”
It appears as if the network will continue to air Season 3 through its full episode order, which still leaves 10 episodes remaining for fans to enjoy during the summer months.

NBC Renews 'Hannibal' For A Third Season
NBC has picked up a third season of their dark drama series Hannibal. Hannibal revolves around FBI Special Agent Will Graham and his mentor, Dr. Hannibal Lecter. After moving to Friday night as part of NBC’s genre block, Hannibal has seen a dip in the ratings. That said, there was never any real doubt as to whether or not the series would come back next season. Hannibal has been averaging an ok 3.6 million viewers/1.4 A18-49 rating and with the drama coming from European studio Gaumont, it is considerably cheaper than other series on the network. That combined with Hannibal‘s strong DVR performance had long hinted at a renewal.
