Halt And Catch Fire Renewed For Season 3

AMC announced today that Halt and Catch Fire has been renewed for a third season. The critically-acclaimed drama will return for another 10 episodes in the summer of 2016, this time with new showrunners. Co-creators and writers Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers have been promoted to helm the series going forward.

AMC has ordered a second season of the drama Halt and Catch Fire for 2015. The series, about the rise of the PC era in the early 1980s, was not a breakout, opening with soft 1.2 million viewers and a 0.34 demo rating, but attracted what the network said was a committed core audience.

AMC has partnered with Tumblr to debut the opening episode of the network’s tech themed drama series Halt And Catch Fire for a two-week window ahead of the show’s linear premiere on Sunday June 1st. Halt & Catch Fire is set in the early 1980s and tells the story of the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time. Their personal and professional partnerships are challenged by greed and ego while charting the changing culture in Texas’ Silicon Prairie. The premiere episode of Halt and Catch Fire will be available from Today through May 31st on Tumblr, marking the first time that the social platform has been used to premiere a television series.

Halt & Catch Fire, a 10-episode series set in the 1980s as a trio of engineering whizzes try to revolutionize the personal computer, will premiere on Sunday, June 1st at 10/9c. The series stars Lee Pace, Scoot McNairy, and Mackenzie Davis as IBM executive Joe Millan, engineer Gordon Clark, and reckless prodigy Cameron Howe, respectively.
