The Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that Greenleaf has been picked up for a fifth and final season. The veteran drama has been a strong performer for the cable network over the course of its run, garnering viewership that regularly places it among the top scripted cable series among African American viewers.
Executive produced by Oprah Winfrey, Greenleaf premiered in 2016 as OWN's first-ever scripted series. The show follows the conflict within an unscrupulous family who run a megachurch in Memphis, Tennessee.
The fifth and final season of Greenleaf is being targeted for a June premiere, though an exact date has yet to be determined.
