'Godfather Of Harlem' Renewed For Season 3
Epix announced today that Godfather of Harlem will be coming back for a third season. The good news comes four months after the crime drama concluded its sophomore run.
Inspired by infamous New York crime boss Bumpy Johnson, the series takes place in the 1960s with Bumpy, played by Forest Whitaker, returning home after a decade in prison to find his old neighborhood in shambles. With an Italian crime family now running the streets, Bumpy must take on the mob in order to regain control of his stomping grounds. During all this he forms an alliance with radical preacher Malcolm X, whose political rise is caught between social upheaval and a disruptive gang war.
Epix has ordered another 10 episodes for Season 3 of Godfather of Harlem, which is slated to start production this summer for a probable premiere later this year.
Godfather of Harlem will continue to walk the neighborhood streets, with a renewal for a 10-episode third season.
