Inspired by the real story of the 1980's female wrestling league, the series - set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams - will be the fictionalized story of an out of work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
Netflix announced today that GLOW has been picked up for a fourth and final season. The news arrives one month after the release of Season 3, which has continued to garner critical praise for its smart, but campy, storytelling and its strong ensemble cast.
Based around the 1980s phenomenon "Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling", GLOW stars Alison Brie as Ruth Wilder, an actress in Los Angeles who, in an attempt to keep her dream of stardom alive, takes a gig portraying a female wrestler on a TV show. This thrusts her into the world of wrestling stardom alongside a group of Hollywood misfits, lead by a washed-up B-movie director who joins them on their journey to fame.
Look for Season 4 of GLOW in mid-2020.
