Following the collapse of a super-power of the world stage, implied to be the Soviet Union, several factions emerge and vie for control over its former areas. One of them is terrorist organization SKAR, which aims at nothing less than world conquest. In the year 2006, a new G.I. Joe team is created to face SKAR and other power-hungry factions in an increasingly unstable, war-torn area.
