House of the Dragon is based on J.R. Martin's novel Fire & Blood. Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, the series chronicles the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the "Dance of the
Dragons", and the war itself.

The series is scheduled to premiere on August 21, 2022. Its first season will consist of ten episodes.

Game of Thrones fans will get a a behind-the-scenes look at the show Feb. 8, when HBO airs a new featurette called “A Day In The Life".The special airs at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT, and was first reported by the Game of Thrones fanatics over at Watchers on the Wall after a tipster spotted it on their HBO Go schedule.No premiere date has been set, but the show has historically bowed in April or late March.

Nathalie Emmanuel, who played Daenerys Targaryen’s wary and clever translator Missandei last season, will be bumped to a series regular assuming the fantasy hit gets a fifth season, which seems like a pretty safe bet. HBO Announces 15 Minute 'Game Of Thrones' Preview
With still lots of time ahead of its April season premiere, Game of Thrones will return briefly in February to tease and appease with a 15-minute special on HBO. Game of Thrones Ice and Fire: A Foreshadowing will look back at what has happened and peer into the future as to what is in store. HBO announced the special will feature clips from forthcoming episodes, behind-the-scenes looks, as well as interviews with the cast, some of which who will answer questions from fans. 'Game Of Thrones' Casts Styr In Season Four
Just when you thought the 'Game of Thrones' cast couldn't get any bigger, HBO has released the news that it has added yet another member to its Season Four roster in the form of Styr, the Magnar of Thenn. The role will be played by Russian actor Yuri Kolokolnikov who is a longtime actor in his homeland, having appeared in more than a couple of dozen features. As for some background into his character, Styr is the leader of the Thenn, one of the most warlike tribes from beyond the Wall.

'Game Of Thrones' has cast the popular indie band Sigur Ros to appear sometime in the upcoming season. As for exactly what the Icelandic bandmates' official roles will be, that is yet to be known. filming is already underway with members Jón Þór “Jónsi” Birgisson, Georg Hólm and Orri Páll Dýrason currently shooting their appearance in Croatia.
