Phillip Fry, a pizza delivery boy, accidentally freezes himself on New Year's Night 1999. He wakes a thousand years later and is given the chance to have a new identity for himself. He goes to work for the Planet Express, a futuristic delivery service, which transports packages to all quadrants of the universe.

Character Bio
Bender is a heavy-drinking, cigar-smoking, kleptomaniacal, misanthropic, egocentric, ill-tempered robot. He was originally programmed to bend girders for suicide booths, and later is designated ship's cook. He is Fry's best friend and roommate. He is also known to have deep desires to be a folk singer and a chef. He was built in Mexico.
