Fear Factor is returning to television once again - only this time on a new network. MTV announced today that it is reviving the iconic dare/stunt game show for a summer run with an updated format and new host. The new installment of the series on MTV is part of a new partnership with actor and recording artist Ludacris, who will executive produce the show and also take on hosting duties. MTV announced today that Fear Factor has been renewed for an eighth season, which will be its second on the cable network since being revived earlier this year after a five-year absence. The iconic dare/stunt game show wraps up its current summer run tonight at 10:00pm.
The current installment on MTV is part of a new partnership with actor and recording artist Ludacris, who executive produces and hosts the show. The 2017 version has been updated for today's generation with stunts inspired by viral videos, scary movies, and urban legends. Teams of contestants are taken outside their comfort zones as they face their fears and battle it out for the $50,000 grand prize.
A supersized 20 episodes have ordered for the next season of Fear Factor, which is slated to premiere in 2018.
