The Griffin household includes two teenagers, a cynical dog who is smarter than everyone else, and a baby who makes numerous attempts to eradicate his parents and siblings. Heading up this eclectic household is Peter Griffin. Peter does his best to do what's right for the family, but along the way, he makes mistakes that are the stuff of legends. Peter enjoys having drunken antics with his friends Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland.
The Wi-Fi goes out in the Griffin house, leaving the family with nothing to do for the evening. In order to keep the family entertained, Peter and Lois decide to tell the kids the story of how they met and fell in love in the '90s.
It is being reported that Fox has picked up Family Guy for an 18th season. The renewal will see the animated comedy reach 21 years on the air - a feat rarely accomplished by a television series.
Created by Seth MacFarlane before he was a household name, Family Guy debuted in 1999 without much fanfare. The show struggled to find a consistent audience, being moved from one time slot to another, and was actually cancelled after Season 3. But when DVD sales and syndication ratings exceeded expectations, Fox decided to revive the series.
And what a revival it turned out to be. Since coming back it has gone on to become a fixture in pop culture, winning numerous awards and amassing a legion of loyal fans. Now one of TV's longest-running shows, Family Guy currently sits at 321 episodes.
Look for Family Guy to return this fall as part of the network's 2019-2020 schedule.
