Everybody Hates Chris is an American sitcom on The CW Television Network. It is inspired by the teenage experiences of comedian Chris Rock (who narrates the show), while growing up in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn. Unlike other CW sitcoms, Everybody Hates Chris does not use a studio audience laugh track.

Character Bio

Kevontay Jackson as Jerome, one of Chris' few friends and an older teenager in the neighborhood, who asks for money from smaller kids, like Chris (whom he's nicknamed "little dude from across the street"), on the block with his catchphrase "little dude from across the street, lemme hold a dollar" (though there are several variations of this, such as requesting to hold a quarter in the Laundromat or requesting to hold some Halloween candy). On occasion, he is also the one whom Chris turns to when seeking advice on things, such in the episode "Everybody Hates Bad Boys." In the same episode, the narrator, Chris Rock, as Dr. Monginburg, who played Chris's counselor and jokingly remarks that his family considered taking Jerome to Domaine et Mer, which they decide against for fear that he will steal all the cutlery. In one Christmas themed episode, when Chris gives Jerome a card with $2,000 in it, he decides to let Chris "hold a dollar" for a change. In a following scene, Jerome was robbed.
