'Dynasty' Renewed For Season 5
The CW announced today that Dynasty has been picked up for a fifth season. The soap opera, which has yet to set a premiere date for Season 4, is having an impressively long run considering it is typically one of the lower-rated prime time dramas on broadcast television.
Dynasty premiered in 2017 as a reboot of the popular 1980s soap of the same name. The series follows the rivalry between two upper-crust American families. Fallon Carrington is a cunning young woman on the rise who discovers that her billionaire father is engaged to a younger rival employee at their global energy empire. Not wanting an outsider intruding on her family's dynasty, Fallon becomes allies with her father's nemesis as part of a move to strike out on her own.
