Long ago a fighting master known as Gohan discovered a strange boy whom he named Goku. Gohan raised him and trained until he died. The young and strong boy was on his own until one day, hew met a teenage girl named Bulma, whose search for the dragon balls brought her to Goku's home. Together, they set off to find all seven dragon balls in an adventure that would change Goku's life forever.

Character Bio

Grandpa Son Gohan is the adoptive grandfather of Goku, whom he found in a crashed spaceship. He teaches Goku martial arts, having originally studied under Kame-Sennin with Gyū-Maō and also knows the
Kamehameha technique. He warns Goku not to look at the full moon, but he disobeys, leading to him being killed by Goku as a rampaging giant ape on a night with a full moon. Goku does not learn this until Vegeta turns into an ape and tells Goku about the transformations He is brought back to life for one day by Baba Uranai in order to fight Goku and see his growth as a martial artist. In the anime only, he later appears as an assistant to Annin the ruler of the "magical furnace". He is only shown in flashbacks afterwards. He is voiced by

Kinpei Azusa in
Bardock: The Father of Goku and by
Shigeru Chiba in
