The Doctor looks and seems human. The Doctor is good-looking, sexy and witty, and could be mistaken for just another person in the street. But the Doctor is a Time Lord: a 909 year old alien with 2 hearts, part of a gifted civilization who mastered time travel with the TARDIS. The Doctor saves planets for a living and is very, very good at it. The human race will survive - but only with the Doctor's help.

Why is Episode 2 of Season 5 listed as starting on 20 March, and Episode 1 on 3 April?
Hmmm... I'll go have a look at it now and fix it.
It was because the data from TVRage.com was wrong. Fixed now.
Only two more weeks to go.
Have swapped on-call weeks at work and have told all friends and family that if they call during the show not to expect and answer.
Cant Wait 1 week To Go
I really like the new girl in this one, she's pretty cute. I don't know about the doctor yet. Hope hes good, he has a lot to live up to in Tennant.
Does Anybody Think The New Doctor Looks A Little Bit Like A Woman Bacase Of The Hair

The wait is almost over...
Then why do you have him as a friend?
Super ready for some Dr. Who!!!
LoL @ Sir Patrick Moore in Doctor Who, I never thought I would live to see the day, actually I thought he would never live to see the day, how old is he now? he must even be older than the TimeLord rofl
The coming soon trailer at the end looked very promising.
That was the most surprisingly brilliant episode I have ever seen, the tone it set's for the coming season is brilliant. I honestly can't express how happy I am about every single thing in that episode.
^ Staggeringly excellent.
ive delted him iddint know he spameed
I Loved the the first episode to feature the 11th doctor.10/10
OK Justin No problem.
That was soooo good. But its got me wondering how long can it go for as they only have three episodes listed up until July?
There are 13 episodes this series...
OK so where are the dates listed. They only show up to April 17?
Wikipedia lists al thirten episodes although some titles and airdates have yet to be confirmed.
A 2010 chritma spcia has e confirmed as el as another season for 2011.
It has been a good beginnng for the BBC in April ... the Dr Who opener with Matt Smith had over 8 million viewers (as reported by the BBC) and a day or so after The Eleventh Hour, they followed up with a spanking new Jonathan Creek... folks in the States will get a chance to see the new Dr Who later in April, but when will they have a chance to see Jonathan Creek?
Dlld Jonathan Creek last night pretty good.
This thread is for 'Doctor Who' not 'Jonathan Creek'
Opinions on the new Doc so far...
Opinions on Amy Pond...
I liked the new Doctor (Matt Smith) about 15 minutes into the first episode. Way better than I expected him to be. And now three episodes in I am really quite enjoying him. Although I think he needs a conflict story to bring out the best in the character.
I was the same with David Tennant in the beginning. Who I thought on first look was over acting way too much at the start of The Christmas Invasion. But I soon warmed to his... exuberance. :)
As for Amy Pond, well they haven't made her dumb, which is a good start. She is doing okay, and holding her own so far. She is great to look at which does help too. But I am still reserving judgement on her character as we need to see some more of her history, family and friends becoming involved with the Doctor's problems. As that is how the previous three companions have grown on us. Although it was a nice touch in the first episode where the Doctor met her as a young girl and she was left behind.

I think the new Doctor looks a little drab and mousy. He needs a bit of bright colors. Maybe a bright yellow coat and a bright red bow tie. lol
i don't really like the new doctor, he lacks enthusiasm and acting ability. I feel like i can push him over with my pinkie. AS for Amy Pond, i am a fan. Shes smokin hot, haha
This weeks episode had it's good moments (space fighting spitfires) but apart from a couple of good ideas it was a return to the shit storytelling of old, I was really hoping that Moffatt would keep a tighter narrative reign on the other writing staff but at least it can return to greatness next week with the start of his biggest 2-parter ever.
I really enjoyed tonights first-of-a-two-parter, the return of the scary weeping angels and the Doctors future wife all made for a very good episode, but what is the secret That River Song is hiding from the Doctor?
Such an excellently paced episode it felt it was only on for 15 minutes it was running through the story so fast. Superb.
My guess as to rivers secret, she isn't the doctors girlfriend, she's the doctors daughter all grown up.
Interesting guess that because we only have Rivers word that she is/was/going to be his wife.
She never says she is, no-one does Amy just assumes.
Really good fast action on this two parter. I like the ranks of the army of the church similar to a movie story line a couple of years back... Seventh Seal? Don't forget that Dr River said she was in jail and didn't want to go back. I think she may be one of the Dr's later companions and may have been jailed for smuggling alien artifacts...sort of a Laura Croft tomb raiser type
Wonder who she killed .....Maybe a future Doctor or even Capt Jack Harkness? We know it was a man at least she said that much.
Captain Jack goes on to be the face of Boe and we know how he dies, although now thanks to the cleverness of Moffat he can in essence decide what happened and what didn't since the crack is eating up time itself.
Hey maybe she kills of a screen writer called Moffat and a certain series never exists and we are writing about nothing??
The last episode was kinda odd.
I mean really alien fish people. Like pirana. Awfully weird.
I do like Amy Pond so far.
I agree that River could be the Doctor's daughter. It would explain a lot, but the comment she made about him being the youngest she ever met in the library of shadows in the last season makes me think that the theory may be wrong.
Yeah but that is the end of her particular time-line and only the beginning of his so how does that eliminate the possibility.

Matt Smith to Appear on 'The Sarah Jane Adventures'
by Brad Trechak, posted Apr 20th 2010 9:21AM
Matt Smith has only just taken the reigns of the title role in 'Doctor Who' and he is already slated to make a guest-appearance on the spin-off series 'The Sarah Jane Adventures,' according to the BBC Press Office. For those unaware, the spin-off follows the adventures of former 'Doctor Who' companion Sarah Jane Smith as played by Elisabeth Sladen.
Also joining them in the same episode is former 'Doctor Who' companion Jo Grant. She'll be played by Katy Manning, who is stepping into the role for the first time since 1973.
And to round out the news trifecta, the episode will be written by the creator of 'The Sarah Jane Adventures' and the man responsible for bringing 'Doctor Who' back to television, Russell T. Davies. This would mark Davies' first time writing for the character of the Doctor since he left the series (and it could be argued that it's his first time writing for Smith's Doctor).
Mind you, Davies writing was never particularly impressive on the series in terms of science fiction. Davies' strength tends to be writing about relationships, and having the Doctor in a room with two of his ex-companions (which for the Doctor would be the equivalent of ex-girlfriends) is enough reason to tune in.
Thanks for that news @vyper, any news on when this is happening?
The first of the free Doctor Who adventure games is available from the BBC website now for Windows.
Thx UCG, here is the url http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/funandgames
Will probably know more when the show gets closer to starting. Will let you know as soon as I learn something.
