The Deadliest Job in America is, claimed to be crab fishing on the Bering Sea. A good season can make one man a year’s salary in just a few days! With forty-foot waves, 700 pound crab pots, freezing temperatures and your mortality staring you in the face…this job ranks as one of the deadliest.
William is new to the show this year, but not to the Time Bandit crew.
William met Captain Johnathan Hillstrand through a friend during a past herring season, and began working with Johnathan on other boats.
In 2003, William and Johnathan both captained the Canyon Explorer together, but it unfortunately sank during an 80 mph windstorm. It goes without saying that the two have already been through a lot together.
William has fished Reds, Browns and Bairdi crab with various Time Bandit guys, and thus feels confident he’ll mesh with the crew just fine.
During his time off, William and his girlfriend own and run a few gas stations in Massachusetts. With a family and his own business, he feels crab fishing may not be a long-term deal, especially since he wants to be around for his two kids.
