The Deadliest Job in America is, claimed to be crab fishing on the Bering Sea. A good season can make one man a year’s salary in just a few days! With forty-foot waves, 700 pound crab pots, freezing temperatures and your mortality staring you in the face…this job ranks as one of the deadliest.
Remaining true to the Hillstrand fishing legacy, Captain Johnathan's son, Scott, serves aboard the Time Bandit as a deckhand. He commonly runs the boat's hydraulics, but like all of the crew he's trained to do just about anything.
Scott was born in his father's hometown of Homer, Alaska, and has been working in commercial fishing since he was 15. He has fished for lobster off the Atlantic coast with his father, and in Alaska aboard the Time Bandit.
Scott plans to continue working on the boat so he can eventually take over the family business. As part of this goal, he has applied for his captain's license and insurance to run a commercial boat.
