The Deadliest Job in America is, claimed to be crab fishing on the Bering Sea. A good season can make one man a year’s salary in just a few days! With forty-foot waves, 700 pound crab pots, freezing temperatures and your mortality staring you in the face…this job ranks as one of the deadliest.
This may only be Nick's second full season working with "Wild" Bill, but he knows the skipper all too well. Born and raised in Akutan, Nick has been crabbing on the Bering Sea with his father since he was 13, and his dad is a longtime friend of Bill’s.
Nick has a wealth of fishing experience and, according to Captain Bill, is the epitome of a true crabber.
A self-proclaimed clown, Nick loves to make people laugh on deck, often at the expense of others. If someone isn’t doing their job, he will surely give them a hard time for it. Last King season, when his close friend Zack was failing on the hook, Nick would yell out, “Miss!” to ensure Zack knew he was floundering.
