'Days Of Our Lives' Moving To Peacock

It was announced today that Days of our Lives will be leaving NBC for its new home on the Peacock streaming service beginning September 12. The move ends the soap opera's 57-year run on network television.
On the air for over half a century, the beloved series premiered in 1965 as a half-hour drama before expanding to a full hour a decade later. The show has won over 50 Daytime Emmy Awards and has aired over 14,000 episodes. Negotiations to keep producing new seasons have become increasingly tricky in recent years, however, with its last renewal being a two-year pickup that will see it on the air through September 2023.
Days of our Lives was the last remaining daytime soap opera on NBC. Only three others remain on other broadcast networks: 'The Young and the Restless', 'General Hospital', and 'The Bold and the Beautiful'.

The choice to move this long time soap opera from NBC to Peacock premium will cause great emotional distress to it's long term viewers that don't have internet. I say this because my mom has watched this show for over 50 years. She is 86 years old and this show is her favorite to watch in the afternoons, while she is eating lunch. My grandmother, who lived to be 103 years old, also watched this show for over 50 years. My mom doesn't have internet, so she has been completely ousted from this show. What are the elderly ladies supposed to do? They don't have internet, WiFi, computers, fancy TV's and lets not forget, they are not computer/electronic savvy. Why would you make such a stupid move like this? You can't force them to buy Peacock premium, because they wouldn't even know how to use this type of viewing option. Bottom line, this move is about money and a selfish move to force people to buy Peacock premium.
