'Criminal Minds' Renewed For Final 15th Season

It was announced today that Criminal Minds has been renewed for what will be its 15th and final season. CBS has ordered 10 episodes for the long-running procedural's swan song, which will be its shortest season to-date.
A continually-solid performer in the network's prime time lineup, the series has had an impressive run, reaching the 300-episode milestone earlier this season. When all is said and done, its 324 total episodes will be matched by very few scripted series.

'Criminal Minds' Renewed For Season 14

CBS announced today that Criminal Minds has been renewed for a 14th season. Despite its advanced age, the veteran procedural drama continues to be a reliable entry in the eye network's lineup.
Today's pickup will see the series reach the 300-episode milestone when it returns this fall. And while Criminal Minds has stood the test of time, its spin-offs have yet to prove their lasting power. 2011's Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior was short-lived, and 2016's Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders lasted just two seasons.

Criminal Minds' Renewed For Season 13

Word is out that CBS has renewed Criminal Minds for a 13th season. The veteran procedural drama continues to be one of the stronger entries in the eye network's lineup despite the recent departures of several cast members. The show currently averages over 10 million Live+same day viewers and ranks in the Top 5 dramas on the network among adults 18-49.
While Criminal Minds has stood the test of time, its spin-offs have yet to prove their lasting power. 2011's Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior was short-lived, and the more-recent Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders is still awaiting news of a third season pickup.

Criminal Minds Thomas Gibson Fired

Aaron Hotchner will be going MIA.
Gibson says he was filming the second episode of the upcoming twelfth season of his hit CBS drama on July 26 when tensions flared between him and writer-producer Virgil Williams.
"I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years," Gibson said in a statement to THR on Friday. "I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won't be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have."

Breaking Bad alumna Anna Gunn is set as the female lead opposite Gary Sinise in CBS’ Criminal Minds planted spinoff. The proposed spinoff will air as an episode of the mothership series this season written by Criminal Minds executive producer/showrunner Erica Messer.
The spin off follows agents helping American citizens who find themselves in trouble abroad, with Sinise playing their boss, Jack Garrett. Gunn will play Ally Lambert, an international law expert and talented linguist. She’s smart, capable and an indispensable part of the team that makes sure bad guys worldwide don’t slip through the murky waters of international law.

CBS is taking another stab at expanding its popular Criminal Minds franchise. The network is developing a new spin-off series that will first air as an episode of Criminal Minds in February. If ordered to series, it would become the second planted spin-off from Criminal Minds. The first, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, aired in 2011 but was canceled after a single season Criminal Minds executive producer Erica Messer will write the episode and executive produce with Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper. The episode (and subsequent series) will focus on a division of the FBI that helps Americans in trouble abroad.

Jennifer Love Hewitt To Join 'Criminal Minds' As Series Regular
Criminal Minds has found Jean Tripplehorn's replacement after her departure from the show. Jennifer Love Hewitt is joining the crime drama during Season Ten in a series regular role. She will play Kate Callahan, a seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit. The character will be introduced in the October 1st season premiere.

Baumgartner will play a man who, at an unexpected crossroads in his life, goes on a killing spree. Tahmoh Penikett Cast In 'Criminal Minds' 200th Episode
Criminal Minds‘ JJ Jareau is due to get a devastating blast from the past, and it will come in the form of Tahmoh Penikett. The Battlestar Galactica/Dollhouse alum will appear in Episode 200 of the CBS crime drama. Penikett will play Michael Hastings, someone with whom JJ worked during her off-camera Season Six stint at the DoD. And when he resurfaces, let’s just say that it is not happy meeting. Paget Brewster To Return For 200th Episode
'Criminal Minds' will get a blast from its past when fan fave Paget Brewster returns for the CBS crime drama’s 200th episode. The episode will air in February 2014. “Our 200th episode is going to be a special show,” showrunner Erica Messer said in a statement. “We can’t imagine telling this story without Paget being present.”

CBS has re-signed the stars of “Criminal Minds,” and given the crime drama a ninth season. Leads Thomas Gibson and Joe Mantegna and co-stars Shemar Moore, Kirsten Vangsness and A.J. Cook all signed new two-year deals and last week ABC Studios signed a new deal with showrunner Erica Messer.
